a variety of mediums, primarily oils and acrylics, Galen Perrett has been
painting a wide range of subjects for nearly fifty years. Born into a family of
artists, he began his design studies at Chounard's Art Institute, while at the same
time, pursuing a number of other areas of artistic interest. He also
obtained experience in the commercial art field as an Art Director and Designer for his
own advertising agency. Over the years he continued his fine art interests,
developing a unique painting style that is sure to please even the most
discriminating buyers and collectors. Using a variety of painting tools,
including palette knives and brushes, each canvas not only depicts subjects with
artistic realism, but also the hidden feelings and emotions one might experience
when coming upon each scene.
Painting both in his studio, and en plein air, he
is able to capture natures' colors in dramatic and exciting ways. Mr. Perrett is
also a member of the "Southern California Plein Air Painters Association", and
the "California Art Club".
Mr. Perrett has also been very active in a number of charitable organizations and has held positions as Chairman of the Board of the Los Angeles March of Dimes, and Chairman of the Board of the Better Business Bureau serving four large counties in Southern California.
